Celebrate the state’s 376th anniversary with pomp, pageantry and free admission to living history exhibits.   Program at 1 p.m., exhibits open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Garden Market

HSMC’s annual plant sale supports museum gardens.  Pre-order and on-site sales by various local vendors at the corner of Routes 5 and 584  (Old State House Road). Watch this space for details.  10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

National Trails Day 5K Fun Run

Discover the beauty of St. Mary’s tidewater backwoods on a 5K Fun Run and Walk co-sponsored by the Chesapeake Bay Running Club.

Militia Muster

In early Maryland, all able-bodied men were prepared to defend the colony. Occasional musters allowed them to practice their military skills (and socialize with other militia families). Admission. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Experience an aspect of 17th-century colonial life often overlooked in living history:  what happens after a person dies.

Community Concert & Open House

Kick off your holiday season in the State House with harmonies by St. Maries Musica and inspiring decorations by the Mistress Brent Garden Club.

No charge. Doors open at 6, concert begins at 7.
